Re: Handmade Pyro T-shirt (just for fun)

That looks awesome! I like how it disappears into the black background. You might even consider (should you do similar stuff again) to just skip the darkest parts on a black shirt. That would save you a lot of work, as the form of the pyro is very well perceivable even if the darkest parts get swall...

Re: Tons of issues

Uhm, you ARE aware that this has been programmed by enthusiasts in their spare time in order to make high quality gameplay available for people like you for free? Even if the plan is to fund a kickstarter campaign, Proving Grounds is still open and brought to you at no cost by massive investment of ...

if it's not required to be on steam you could add the domain name here.

Re: Hosting and joining servers

I like to believe that there already are servers out there that do not require to be signed in to steam for joining them. Would it be possible to set up a page that lists them? Ideally the page could also list the number of players online, but I'd be grateful even for a wiki sort of page that lists ...

Spread the Word

I think it would be a good idea to spread the word about Proving Ground's release. I summon all people that are active in other gaming related communities and to make people aware of what is happening here. Because I think it matters. I dropped a link to Sol Contingency in the Xonotic forums . With ...

Re: 6DoF multiplayer for a newbie

From my personal limited experience with online gaming communities I would like to add that it improves the newbie experience a lot if the experienced, skilled players embrace newcomers with openness and friendliness. Sharing not so obvious gameplay tricks or movement mechanics when asked, or tellin...

Re: new game from Parallax software founders

1/2 Hawk, thank you for that elaborate update. I didn't mean to express impatience or exercise pressure. Being active in an open source FPS project, I know how it is to have only spare time to spend. Only that accidental redirect on the web address that I mistook for the official one shook me out of...

Re: Sol Contingency Progress Statement

Thank you for the update, appreciated! That redirect really unsettled me, kinda low to exploit the reputation of the (non-registered) brand you guys built up for generating additional traffic on a competing product. Anyhow, I'm glad you people are still actively working on this, with all the traffic...

Re: new game from Parallax software founders

The recent silence on this board is very awkward, in particular in connection with the redirect on sol contingency's website. I've been mostly silently but closely following this since the first launch of the POC demo, hoping for getting my hands on this sooner or later. With the open beta now havin...

Re: Effects firework vs Gameplay Relevant Information

The comparison image I referenced was of course only to illustrate the concept of what I was trying suggest. My concern was that smoke and particles obstruct the view and add to the complexity of the scenery, while not necessarily (!) adding gameplay related information. Now I'm a big fan of being a...
