Re: new game from Parallax software founders

Dis rebirth of 6dof shooters in the last two to three years, and of all things I did not expect, THE OG 6dof devs come out of the woodwork to say they're making a new game with almost the entire old team including Wentz and Brimble, and have been, since 2014.
And I thought Kulas had retired

Re: Can someone break down the differences between SolC, Descent: Underground, and Overload?

Overload will definitely be like Descent in that gameplay style is map or campaign-dependent, ie there will be SP, MP, and co-op. Sol:C will probably be closer to what Descent was, at least as it stands, while Overload will have things like upgrades and whatnot. Sol:C will also be using more modern ...

Re: Various balance stuff

I only use invuln to gather goods, and maybe get like one kill. Maybe make it last much shorter than cloak to give players enough time to A, kill a few guys that have you cornered, and/or B, grab whatever loot is nearby to stock back up on whatever they had you spend. That, or have it boost you to 2...

Slower? Absolutely not. Descent's lasers were slow and took up half an energy on all but the two lowest difficulties, and that's why everyone used the Gauss.

Re: "Fixing" the Ion Cannon and others ideas

It's listed as an anti-matter weapon, so maybe it could function more like the Super-Heated Plasma from Pyromania, giving it a slow muzzle velocity but it has a blast radius. Instead of it being timed mines, you could saturate the air with slow-moving projectiles to make a temporary wall to either c...

Re: Visual noise

In reality explosions are quick flashes while everything else is mostly dust and carbonizing. Efficient warheads have little to no smoke. However, the Dumbfires can be super cheaply built, as to make tons of them quickly for general purpose destruction, while the Seeker, on the other hand, uses a ve...

Point made there.
Huh? No, I meant between the Lasers and MAC from this game.

Re: Projectiles should use parent velocity

I think this should only apply to guided weapons. Things like the Dumbfire and Atlas should have 75% to 100% inheritance. Drop-missiles like the Cerbrus, however, should have very little, but permanent, inheritance. Like 25% or so.
