We have been through a lot of HUD redesigns to get around the problem of having to place so many items into a layout that is both compact and good looking. What you are suggesting makes sense from a readability standpoint, but requires another pass on the layout to make it work. I hope you can iron...

Slightly offtopic but sort of related - perhaps add some mechanic where the invuln spawns at a random location in the map rather than at fixed points? This was actually discussed in another thread. Or at least under 3. The powerups are fun for the chaos of bigger groups of players, but it's just a pain when the only other player is invis or invulnerable. You can only run (which is pretty hard right now) or hope he doesn't find you.

I don't even think you need to keep track of what the player's seen in multiplayer. What's the point of not showing everything in a competitive setting?

Also, if the collision can't be reshaped, can it be shrunk? I don't know how tightly it fits the ship models, but I know I'd trade ships sometimes appearing to slightly clip into walls over getting parts of my ship that I can't see caught of map geometry.

Yeah, the charging really needs distinct visual & audio feedback. Right now, the audio is very easy to miss and the visual issue is part of a bigger overall issue: the HUD is very pretty and compact, but you can't read it at all without looking directly at it.

Well, even Sublevel Zero's level geometry isn't THAT complex - at least, not as far as I remember. Either way, I don't think having level maps restricted to what's been seen is important. When single-player comes along, then yes.
