Re: The joystick development thread

All axis (including twist) for the Logitech 3D Extreme now work perfectly, without any third party software.

Re: Negative mouse acceleration?

What would be cool is a server setting that brings the max sensitivity down. Currently the max mouse sensitivity feels beautiful for the mouse but it's too hard to have 100% control when aiming on the joystick. Bringing it down on the joystick in the settings alone is not a fix because it places the...

Re: Lasers need more damage

The current MAC is for mousers because the max joystick sensitivity is too high (also consider that the average latency will be around 300 ever with those on cable unless they play from the U.S). The current lasers are tiny and I haven't played enough to know if they need more power but overall they...

Re: The joystick development thread

This is the step-by-step guide for the X360 I wrote in another thread: http://forum.preparefordescent.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=659 As we see there, I remove all bindings and start from scratch to make things work. My issue with it is that while every input works, all inputs work with a .5-1 seco...

Re: The joystick development thread

GTX970 with quadcore i7 and 16gb ram here. Hrm.

Back on topic.

I wonder who has been successful so far, without a wrapper, and what they use.
I mean, if it doesn't work for one perhaps it shouldn't work for anyone.

Re: The joystick development thread

I do not have any games that run on the unreal engine and use the joystick :( I checked this entire list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Unreal_Engine_games Is there any free one that can be downloaded for the purpose of this test? On another note, MaxT, have you noticed joystick lag? when I ...

Re: Reference Footage (from Descent 1)

I've played with most of those guys. Here is another that shows a good balance of rate of fire. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxgq7cBeS1Q Rate of fire is where it's at when deciding what weapon to use. The plasma was a tool for most places; it was a weapon you could easily spam. Lasers were slower...

Re: Various balance stuff

Both are awesome, but in single player I think. I reckon they could also be very fun in co-op games where the focus is to chill, have fun, and have beers while you fly with your mates. Both are awesome gimmicks, given a laid back atmosphere or tough objective that benefits everyone. Perhaps If a lev...

Re: Flares - stick - non-stick - ?

The flares bug me too.

They are a tactical tool which is used to create lighting effects to throw away your enemy, or to open doors from far away.
At present they go flying to random directions... based on heat or gravity in game?

Re: Small audio bug

1994 Descent One won the first round with mini-maps and 2004 World of Warcraft takes a cheap shot with a Full Screen knockdown.
