Robot/Bot Concepts

Duderseb posted an awesome bot concept he was working on in the New SolC media! topic , and it kind of struck me when he asked for input on what the bot would be like. That's awesome! So I started thinking about it, but went off on a tangent unexpectedly... This could go in a number of different dir...

Re: Epic announces new Dev Grant program

I would hope you could more than clear 50K easily with a kickstarter. ...I suppose 50K extra never hurt anybody, though. ;)

Re: Descent: Underground and the future of our game

I want to throw a few thoughts your way, guys. IMO it's difficult to be objective in this atmosphere, with Interplay having just pissed so many off so badly, but I just gave Underground a second look with a few people looking over my shoulder who have been very much out of the loop but used to play ...

Re: Descent: Underground and the future of our game

Well gents, I hope you guys can pull off a better ship than that. ;) I know you guys take the high road, but personally I'm a little (a lot) annoyed by a few things I'm seeing here. They're beating you to kick-starter, beating you to UE4, and I'd bet my bottom dollar they played the game you sent to...

Re: Native Oculus Rift support for Sol Contingency?

Thorne, OR support is a must have for us and is among the chief reasons why we will switch to UE4. Matter of fact, a couple of us already have DK2s and are doing some early testing/exploration in the experimental build we have of SolC in UE4. So it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. Once ...

Re: Native Oculus Rift support for Sol Contingency?

It was my understanding that everyone on the team is very interested in adding OR support. Personally I think there's an important difference between that and a statement that it will be supported. That's my opinion. Therefore what I was recommending was trying to gain a certainty--whatever that inv...

Re: Native Oculus Rift support for Sol Contingency?

Just wanted to say that I suspect it would be a huge boon to you guys if you could settle the question of OR support before doing your crowd-funding campaign. I don't know if you can do that or not, and I would easily support you as much as I could either way--it's not an issue in my mind--it just s...

Sol Contingency--Reimagining?

Have you guys been tempted to re-imagine at all, in the wake of the C&D? Obviously a "spiritual successor" to a certain series is the primary goal, but have any other goals come up? Is there something you kind of all agree that you've always wanted to see in a 6-DOF? I'm not wishing to...

Re: No Pyro? - no problem!

I think you're moving in the right direction. I wonder if adding a little bit of height would also serve to make the ship a better presence in 6-DOF. I've always like the idea of a well rounded thought out craft, but seeing as how the engine will most likely be targeting a squared off box for speed...

Re: No Pyro? - no problem!

... so if I work on my concept a little more, should I try to add elements that reflect the 6dof movement of the ship rather than making it look like a nice star fighter thingo? Imho the Puma looks very decent already, though due to its rounded forms a bit too... cute for being advanced flying weap...
