Re: Native Oculus Rift support for Sol Contingency?

Thorne, OR support is a must have for us and is among the chief reasons why we will switch to UE4. Matter of fact, a couple of us already have DK2s and are doing some early testing/exploration in the experimental build we have of SolC in UE4. So it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. Once w...

Did you check usererror.ini? Loljk. All seems fine from our end, never had a problem with the forums either.

Hey Hawk, maybe it'll turn out you are extremely prone to motion sickness. In which case you can send that bad boy over here and I'll be your proxy.

Re: A Rogue Concept

You can replace "Under the Sea" with "1DVD" in The Little Mermaid's Under the Sea for hours of fun, like so:

1DVD,
Over 2000 posts
Ouch server costs
1DVD!

Re: Custom robots/ships/weapons

Are you running out of hard drive space? :P
But really everything is relative, there is not only the optimization we can do from our end but also the gamer's hardware -- for instance, load/save times will be different on a 5,200rpm HD than on a SSD.

When we were developing the single player campaign (before switching to PG) we did have plans to make hostages a more integral part of gameplay whether, as you said, unlocking secret areas, to even more critical roles like unlocking red access.

Re: Weapons discussion.

Heh, you reminded me about this "game mode" Hawk and I half-jokingly devised; "scavenger anarchy", where all players spawn with no weapons - only flares and, to tie to your post, some form of ramming device that could temporarily impale enemies (lava-roasted Pyro anyone?). Each kill opens a secret d...

Re: Some Robot Concepts

Just a random question: are we still going to keep the design of the Descent Robot eye? Man, I hope so personally. That seemed like an easy project and it turned into a huge technical challenge to pull off - but it turned out fantastic. We could skirt the issue with a bot made up entirely of eyes -...

Re: Cease & Desist - my message to Interplay

Black Mesa and Valve is another example of a project like SolC going in a more fortunate way :)
