Well you guys have been awesome to me. I have never felt a part of an online community until I came to this forum. I would post here or there from time to time, but when I came here, I started to be more consistent in my participation.

That and I've basically been checking the forum every few minutes out of sheer anticipation/anxiety/excitement lol the positive feedback I've been getting on Facebook and YouTube was quite overwhelming. I never thought that I could give a meaningful contribution to the 6DoF (almost mentioned THAT GAME) community. Their support has been encouraging me to make even more map. I even have my wife's support, which is the best. My whole family is happy about it, so I'm happy. I'm happy I get to do something I like to do and knowing other people like it is so much more awesome XD

In other news, we now have a forum in Descentbb under "Descent Gaming". The subtitle for it is "A promising Descent clone made using Unreal Engine 3 which will have greatly improved graphics and very similar to Descent 1 / Descent 2 style mechanics"

I know exactly what you mean, and you might enjoy checking out some of the fav's and comments on your map pics at DA too! :D

Well, that'll come in handy as new concepts & content are released - like a home away from home, especially after the demo launches! :D

I found a possible solution to the Multilingual chat app translation API with MS Translator! :D

Automatic translation:
http://www.microsoft.com/translator/automatic-translation.aspx

Visual Studio Integration:
http://www.microsoft.com/translator/multilingual-app-toolkit.aspx

If one of the leads could check into this a bit to see if there might be any glitches for game chat integration it would be appreciated, since I'm not that familiar with VS yet! :D

The best part is, it’s free to use with Visual Studio 2013!

Some examples of what might be done using MS Translator:
English:
http://audio1.spanishdict.com/audio?lang=en&text=Now-is-the-time-for-all-good-players-to-come-to-the-aide-of-their-favorite-game!
Spanish:
http://audio1.spanishdict.com/audio?lang=es&text=ahora-es-el-momento-para-todos-los-buenos-jugadores-a-la-ayudante-de-su-juego-favorito

I'm still checking into this site www.livemocha.com that currently handles 38 languages! :D

I guess it's safe to say we won't be including translation software.

I may not have said this before, but I don't think it would be a good investment of time anyway. I think the audience for the game is likely to mostly be English-speakers (either native speakers or second language) with the exception of a few, and for those few there's probably some software they can run in the background to do the same job. And there's the fact automated translators can't translate very clearly anyhow.

Hell, even in Trackmania with its enormous community centered in France, the vast majority of the people I find on servers can talk to me in understandable English. Certainly more understandable than an automatic translation.

I think you'd be surprised at the size of the German community. Remember, it was two Germans that gave us Dxx and D2x-XL. :)
