new game from Parallax software founders

Post by youtle » 08 Feb 2016, 04:40

Mike Kulas and Matt Toschlog have established a new studio called ‘Revival Productions’ and are working on a new IP described as 'A gravity-defying first-person shooter combines exhilarating gameplay with the latest technology to give sensory overload a whole new meaning.'
They also seem to have a kickstarter announcement planned for next week (friday?)

Wow. They should have done a deal with Solc people. I guess their scope won't be as big as DS studios, but making a game that sells today needs promotioning, and 6dof is mostly unknown to people. If Solc makes it's kickstarter before the Revival studios I would be surprised if RS got more backers.

Of course it could be we are not talking about a descent game. What if it's a Freespace remake?

Oh, Voidstalker found this link http://www.revivalprod.com/

looks like they are announcing today/tomorrow.
I also suspect they will be re-publishing the old descent games on steam under revival productions if they can wrestle the rights away from interplay or maybe just polish up some old forgotten games similar to what night dive does.

Dis rebirth of 6dof shooters in the last two to three years, and of all things I did not expect, THE OG 6dof devs come out of the woodwork to say they're making a new game with almost the entire old team including Wentz and Brimble, and have been, since 2014.
And I thought Kulas had retired
