By "Preferred" next to Ipv4, does this mean your server does not have a statically assigned IP address on your network?

to enable DMZ the router requires you have it set to DHCP, then when DMZ is enabled it assigns it an ip for outside the network. "at&t u-verse"

I feel your pain everyone. That's why I spent so much time isolating this issue.

Someone has to fight for the sanity!!! hahaha

... ... ...

I think at this point, everything that can be done, has been done for now.

Now that this issue is out there, maybe the right powers at be can solidify a win for this pesky issue.

Even after the advancements I"ve made, I am still not 100% the server is working all the time.

I think its a miracle that it has thus far... I hope the path I have left, will help another.

I am confident, that between all of our collective efforts, we will nail this once and for all.

Cheers!

R3 New Issue (Fixed):

After testing with DuderSeb, the fix is to not use any underscores or spaces "_" Has to be ONE word, and the server will reflect the name.

------------------------------------
Example:
cd Binaries\Win32
start UDK.exe server DM_Vertigo_2-5?game=SDOFMultiPlayer.SDOFDeathmatchGameDS?MaxPlayers=8?serverdescription=MyServer?timelimit=10?goalscore=20 -ConsolePosX=1250 -ConsolePosY=680
------------------------------------

(Fixed)
The problem now, seems to be that the name of the server, dictated in the .bat file, is not keeping. And the server shows up as "unnamed_server" or some sort of incarnation, regardless of what I put in the "serverdescription=DedicatedServer" field. It does not even show up as DedicatedServer. However, I can't actually verify it on my end, because im behind the NAT for the server, and the server name is not showing in the game (I think). But it is confirmed that the server is advertising and can be seen by others.

Update #2:

I can log into both of my steam accounts at one time now. It seems that "streaming" auto enabled after a while of me doing this. Previously, I was getting frequent prompts of getting booted off steam, because I was also signed in on the server machine. However, after this auto change by steam, it lets me stay logged into both my main machine and the server machine, as long as the other computer is on the same local network. So, it seems I no longer have to use a "dummy" steam account to be logged in, to run the server on my dedicated machine, and still play the game on my main. Not sure if this is having any adverse effect, but it seems not to be the case. Have to test it out some more.

The game defaults to "unnamed server" if it does not find an advertised server name. The advertising is handled through Steam. If it only happens for your server then it may indicate a Steam problem. If it happens for ALL dediacted servers then something got fucked up when I coded it (although I tested it and it worked at the time...)

I think I solved this pesky thing. You can't have spaces or "_" in it! At least for my setup... I updated my post :)

Cesar had "DevServer_Boston" in his name and it showed up for me. I wonder what it is.

By contrast, DevServer_Atlanta did not work for me however that name could also be too long by a character or two? Another gremlin lurking in the engine lol.

Baffling... Well.. all I know is that "Risky_Server" and Risky_Server, does not work for me at all. Had to make it RiskyServer.

Such risk.....

The gremlins are real... :?
