I've argued this point forever. Max thinks that you guys, dear players, would be horribly confused if everything wasn't exactly the same on every map we make. This was implemented in our shield/energy pickups at one point too but unfortunately this feature got nerfed. Fundamentally though, I agree with you - esp since you have a timer on the HUD. To grab it in the tunnel in Neptune, you need a long timer to escape and still use it ... but snagging it from behind the crates in IceBreaker or in the pool on Vertigo makes it last forever. :|

Lol, Max may be right, after all, we are crazy 6DoF addicted flyers ;) Just an idea. Point being, a change is needed with them.

I think the power ups should work the same everywhere. I see a difference between casual fun where we focus on gimmicks (shiny or particular additions) and a more serious outlook where we limit variables to focus on an even play field, which in turn rewards mastery over the ship to win. I think there should be no invulnerability power ups and perhaps the odd cloak in one level or another. In game though, how you win doesn't matter so unless there are random spawn points, we are going to time every single power up spawn point.

What about a server option that allows you to turn on/off powerups in the maps? Suppose it's an easy task to make you guys some "Competitive" versions of these maps setting up spawns, weapons and pickups for ladder matches or however you want them.

A way to turn on and off any and all powerups would be grand as well. Hosts can decide to remove the cloak and invuln.

^ Laser only servers. We should be able to pick and choose weapons. That way if we are playing with one friend or something we can have fun fights.

Being able to choose whether you want the powerups is good, but the problem is there is no need for anyone to keep them on. They hardly add to the gameplay at the moment.
