Or at least under 3. The powerups are fun for the chaos of bigger groups of players, but it's just a pain when the only other player is invis or invulnerable. You can only run (which is pretty hard right now) or hope he doesn't find you.

Agreed.

They are fun factor powerups that can be timed with your iphone :)

Yep, I agree - invulnerability is fine for singleplayer but a bit cheesy in a multiplayer environment with only two or three folks on.

Slightly offtopic but sort of related - perhaps add some mechanic where the invuln spawns at a random location in the map rather than at fixed points?

This was actually discussed in another thread. It's a good idea.

Is it? This just means that people can't camp one spot, but if someone gets it, it's still not fun to have your duelling opponent gain a huge advantage for a little bit - maybe even moreso because of luck.

Not every map needs to have the invil. Vertigo. being for a small number od players, could lose it.

I think it would be good to have a server option to disable certain power-ups. Being able to disable any and all power-ups would give users more control over what type of match they want to have. Personally, I don't like the availability of invulnerability and cloaking devices in MP matches, although it seems that the current cloaking device (R3) shows a shadowed ship, making ships at least spottable.

We are going to try the server option and "based on player number" thing out for ourselves and see how it goes.
