Dedicated Server with Steam Broadcast

Post by Mani-aX » 07 Nov 2015, 22:59

Is it possible to host a dedicated server and see the server listed in the server's list - in the game?

Also, the dedicated command file, what is the syntax to name the server?

thanks!

To see a dedicated server in the server browser, you have to be logged into Steam before launching it - and you need ports 27015-27016 (UDP) forwarded on the router to broadcast that it's running.

The syntax is ?serverdescription=HawksServer for example. Note there seems to be a limit to the number of characters allowed, so keep it short.

Hawk, you nailed it! :)

I've had some success with this same issue. I hope the below thread helps you ;)

You may or may not be able to see your own server depending on how your router handles it.
