I had an idea when homeyduh mentioned customizing, and how cool it would be to make a ship/bot repair/garage installation map - say as a small level section of a larger space station map, especially since most all versions of the unreal tournament releases usually had some type of garage map included in the release. Or was made by modders for the game.

I was just about to make this thread lol what do you mean garage station? Like customize mid match? O.o bot repair stations? I think that that would detract too much from the gameplay. When I said robot makers, I was referring to the robot makers from D1-3 lol energy center is good enough and games are too fast for players to sit back and repair or anything o.o I'm not sure I got what you meant correctly though...

On another note, the Pyro's dimensions are the same as the default "player" dimensions but flipped 90 degrees? Is there a way I could get a hold of the Pyro flight testing so that I can test my maps in terms of scaling and feel or do I need to huff it, which I don't mind.

I was referring to the level environment structure, which could with some KISMET - actually be a part of a 3D customization section in the menu structure, but using it for a regular map is a good use of game assets too. Where in MP mode you'd have to be careful not to get in the way of moving parts & machinery that complete the immersive feel of a repair station, where ships and bots are being repaired by automated systems inherent in that type of installation - set in the environment of an off world space station, or deep in a mine! I was merely offering suggestions really.

That would be like NPC's(None Player Character) playerbot 'spawn points', to respawn the bot's after they have been dispatched or disabled with a well place missle! :D

Actually, I think it's about twice that size - but I could be wrong, since I'm no longer on the dev team. But, the maps you make can easily be scaled to fit the regular sizes that are currently being used in the game - so using the default scales should be okay for now, at least until it's released.

The MP Demo should be out very soon, so you and all the rest us can start mapping with the exact dimensions of the next generation Pyro and Enemy Bots! :D

Ooooooh! I get you! I misunderstood you. That would be awesome!

I wasn't sure if it could be rescaled that easily, but its good to hear that it can. Why aren't you on Dev team anymore? O.o

I could have given a more detailed explanation the first time! :|

Well. I wasn't quite up to the task - having system & GFX troubles with minimal SM3+ support, and not being able to install the current UDK version etc...

I'm still hoping to be able to at least play the game though! :D

Oh no! That really stinks :/ well you can enjoy it vicariously through me. I'm doing pretty well in UDK so far and I've made a simple cyllindrical central hub area with area's that would be good for CTF. I'll take a quick screen cap of it when I get the chance. I only have the central area and I need to build flanking areas as well as "home base". I'm going to try using some of the default UDK static meshes that came with it to make stuff in the map like doors. I'm hoping that the area is large enough for all the chaos though...

I'm not positive since I haven't done the research yet, but I do believe it's
possible to enable more than 2 teams for CTF and Assault type maps so...

Well tough luck yellow ans green teams! :P I jest. I'm sure I could figure out an area of the map for them. I usually just focus on red and blue. I made an awesome red, blue, green, and yellow map once on Halo Reach. The wonders I did with those meshes! XD
