This ship kinda reminds me of the ship from Kiloblaster.

A little less blocky ship would be nice. Not too curvy, but not too many edges lol

It's not really beautiful but it could work and wouldn't even require weapon modification as the gun points seem to be the same.

Wonder how close to the Pyro's design we can get before Interplay pisses their pants again.

It does lol for ship design, I like the overall set up of the pyro with the wings jutting forward and the cannons mounted on the sides. The top wing (where the missiles are) could be changed out. I think that the pyro's design there was kinda unique. I don't like how the Phantom is very planar in the front; it looks like it got squashed or something. I think that the wings of the Pyro should stay, but other details could be left out to prevent any problems

That really is the question, MadMax. My advice would be to make all of it, from ships to weapons to robots, so that it is unrecognizable as Descent material. That ship there is clearly a Pyro. It's just not going to work. Why let the fate of your next release, and even your team/company be determined by which side of the bed Interplay gets up on next time? I would recommend sticking with the symmetry in ship design, because I think that's something all Descent ships had going for them (never cared for the asymmetrical ship in Forsaken).

I also like number 22 - I think the design should be reasonably compact to allow for moving in mines :o)
